Make Your Gift Go Further with Matching Funds
At the Seattle Animal Foundation, we are grateful for the support of donors like you. Did you know your employer may match your charitable gift (and in some cases volunteer hours), helping your generosity go even further?
Many corporations offer employee matching-gift programs that allow your gift to SAF to be doubled (or even tripled) at no extra cost to you.

Here’s how it works:
- Make your gift to SAF as usual.
- Check with your employer (or your company’s HR/Benefits department) to see if they have a matching-gift or volunteer-grant program.
- If eligible, complete your employer’s matching-gift form and submit it, typically with your SAF gift receipt, to your employer.
- Your employer sends the match grant to SAF, enhancing the total impact of your original donation.
Why this matters:
- Your generosity goes further: $100 could become $200 (or more!) with a 1:1 match.
- For planned/legacy gifts, be sure to check whether your employer matches deferred or legacy contributions.
- If you volunteer your time, some employers offer volunteer grants (e.g., $25 for each hour you serve) — turning your service into additional funds for SAF.
Need help?
- Confirm your employer’s program by asking: “Does the company match gifts to US 501(c)(3) nonprofits? What is the maximum match and match ratio? Are retirees or spouses eligible?”
- Download or request the matching-gift form from your employer.
- When you submit your match request, please let us know (email [email protected]) so we can watch for the company grant and provide acknowledgement.
Thank you for helping animals in need — and for maximizing the impact of your contribution by exploring your employer’s matching gift options.
